I've been building technology since I was 13 — running servers and networks for my school district, then shipping SaaS products by 16. Since then I've built six companies with zero venture capital, including NPS-AID, a public-safety platform now protecting people across 31 states and 600+ law enforcement agencies.
Shooting has been my #1 hobby outside of tech for 20 years — for fun, and in competition. And for just as long, I've watched this community get shut out of the apps and networks every other hobby takes for granted, running on tech that hasn't kept up. For America's 250th, I wanted to build something better: a platform that treats shooters, ranges, and match directors like the modern, serious community they are — open to every skill level, built with the same rigor I'd bring to any public-safety system.

Is it really free to start?
Yes. A free ShotGroup account gets you a public profile in the community, and lets you run matches, take registrations and payments, and score live on our offline-first tablet app — no card required. You upgrade only when you want members, bookings, POS, or advanced tools.
Why do I need an account if I don’t want to pay?
Because shooters are already searching ShotGroup for ranges, clubs, matches, and instructors near them. Claiming your free listing lets you control how your business appears — your info, hours, photos, events, and results — instead of leaving it to an unclaimed placeholder.
Do we own our match results and member data?
Yes. Every match you run and every member record is yours — export it any time. Your results page is branded to your club, not ours, and it doubles as an invitation funnel to every shooter who competed there.
Does scoring work with no signal at the range?
Yes. ShotKeeper — our official scoring app — is offline-first: score an entire match with zero bars on a tablet, and it syncs to your live leaderboard the moment you reconnect. Tablets can even sync to each other over the local network.
What does it cost to take payments?
Payments run through your own Stripe account. ShotGroup adds a small platform fee that drops as your plan rises — from the Free tier down to zero on Enterprise. You keep the customer relationship and the money.
Do I have to sell firearms or run an FFL to use this?
